Weddings at Couples
Resort in Jamaica
Weddings are performed Monday through Saturday.
The first wedding is performed at 9:00 am. Last wedding is at
4:00 pm. Entire wedding lasts 1 hour. Average length of actual
ceremony is 10 minutes. Vows are standard. Wedding date may be
confirmed prior to making hotel reservations. Guest must call
the Sales Department at the hotel to arrange wedding. On arrival
at the hotel the guests must go to the sales office to make final
arrangements. The Wedding Coordinator will arrange location of
ceremony with guests. Guests may bring their own glasses, knives
etc. Cake ornaments are restricted to: l=6", w=4", h=7". Traditions
such as breaking glasses (guests must provide own glasses) and
jumping brooms are accepted.

Identification Papers:
Notarized copies of birth certificates. If father's name is not
on the certificate, indicate father's name on a separate paper.
Notarized copies of driver's license or passport. Notarized proof
of divorce, copy of death certificate for widow/widower (if applicable).
Clients are required to be at Couples Hotel at least 48 hours
in advance to finalize wedding arrangements and apply for marriage
license. This includes the one government working day which is
required to apply for the license.
Note: If time does not allow the clients to arrive 48 hours prior
to wedding, the client must advise the hotel in advance and ensure
that all arrangements are completely finalized .However, by law,
the guest then has to be on the island (from processing by immigration)
for 24 hours before they can be married. Documents must be sent
one month in advance by courier service to the following address:

Weddings are included with a stay of 6 nights or longer.
Your choice of scenic locations, including two wedding gazebos
- one overlooking the beach, one tucked amidst our tropical jungle.
Weddings can be performed anywhere except on Tower Isle (au natural).
Reception is held only in the gazebos. Non-denominational marriage
ceremony. For Catholic weddings, see information sheet in this
section. Marriage license. Additional charge for copies. Two tier
cake. Traditional Jamaican wedding cake or plain cake. Bridal
bouquet and boutonniere, guest can choose color. Champagne . Live
music. Depending on availability, one of the following will be
provided: Trumpet, saxophone, clarinet. Matching commemorative
T-shirts. Half-hour massages.

Photographs
$250.00 - 36 pictures , negatives & album
$175.00 - 24 pictures , negatives & album, videotape $160.00
Extra bridal bouquet $25.00, Extra boutonniere $ 4.00. Certified
copies of Marriage Certificate (three copies) - $40.00 (to be
paid in cash at the hotel). This will be mailed to you. It is
recommended that certified copies be obtained in order to have
legal proof of the marriage. Passes for wedding guests staying
off the property may be purchased. A wedding pass valued at $60.00
per person is valid for eight hours. In keeping with the COUPLES
concept, all guests must be adults 18 years and older. No children,
no exceptions.
Renewal of Vows:
Renewal of marriage vows is complimentary with stays of six
nights or longer at Couples. The normal ceremony and reception
will be conducted. However, no legal paperwork will have to be
submitted to the hotel in advance. Guests must call hotel directly
to arrange ceremony. Please inform hotel that it will be a renewal
of marriage vows. Couples issues a commemorative certificate.
NOTE: Guests should be prepared to
provide certain information when planning the wedding. Although
not mandatory, it is advisable to include this information with
the necessary documents that are sent to the hotel. This is especially
useful if there is only a 24 hour period between arrival time
and the wedding.

the hotel. Clients may complete a copy of this sheet.
Catholic Weddings
The priest handles the actual wedding time, date & religious requirements.
Application for the marriage license and reception are handled
by Couples. Please check to ensure that the hotel is able to coordinate
with the time scheduled by the priest.

MONTHS before coming to Jamaica, your local pastor(s) must complete
all the usual papers (pre-marital inquiry, Pre- Cana, baptismal
certificates, dispensations etc.) The local bishop then provides
a testimonial letter. Keep copy of all records.

Location And Time
Contact the local Jamaican priest to arrange a mutually acceptable
wedding date & time.
ALL ARRANGEMENTS REGARDING THE ACTUAL CEREMONY IS DONE BETWEEN
THE GUESTS AND THE PRIEST. COUPLES ARRANGES THE RECEPTION ONLY.
Weddings are not performed on Sundays. Suggested days are Wednesday,
Thursday and Saturday by 3:30 pm. The church does not perform
garden or hotel weddings.
NOTE:
Always arrange the wedding with the priest in advance.
A suggested gift for the church is US $100.00 which is given directly
